During 1950-1980, little events took place such as the rapid industrialization of North Korea during the late 1950's and early 1960's plus North Korea started covert operations against South Korea trying to eliminate its government through bomb explosions, agent infiltration's and more. On 1988, North Korea established trade relations with South Korea. During the early 1990's, a famine in North Korea started decimating its population killing two million civilians and in order to save the citizens of North Korea, South Korea began sending food and medicine as an unconditional aid to North Korea.
